47 participants since the inauguration, but only 6 English Premier League Winners till now. It is the story of the grand success of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool FC, and Leicester City who had the chance to hold the Premier League history.

The Premier League witnessed immense popularity since its inception in 1992. After it was established itself as a breakaway league from the English football’s First Division, the league became an instant hit for the fans. During the dark time of England’s First Division in the 1980s, several star players went to Italian Seria A and Spanish La Liga while leaving English football. But after Premier League became a major success starting from the inaugural season, legendary players again started to come to the league to play for the big clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal.

The induction of star players, better infrastructures of the English stadiums and widely distributed television networks to show the league live was the main reason that made the Premier League the most viewed sports league in the world. Where several big clubs maintained the top five spots in the league for several seasons, but the league has seen just seven clubs to hold the trophy till now. Among all 47 teams, only 6 teams Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, and Leicester City have held the league trophy. Manchester United | 13 Times Champions

Manchester United is the most successful team in the Premier League with 13 trophies under their name. They won the cup in 1992–93, 1993–94, 1995–96, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11 and 2012–13 season. As an amazing fact, they have won all the Premier League titles under the guidance of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Manchester United became the winner of the Premier League three times consecutively on two occasions which is also a record in itself.

The team has participated in all 26 seasons of the Premier League without facing any relegation. They have finished at the 2nd position in the last season of Premier League 2017-18. With legendary players such as Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, and Marcus Rashford, Manchester United is expected to perform really well in the current season of Premier League 2018-19.

Chelsea | 5 Times Champion

English club Chelsea has held the Premier League trophy five times till now and has achieved the second spot on the Premier League winners all-time list. The Blues won the league trophy in 2004–05, 2005–06, 2009–10, 2014–15, and recently at the season of 2016–17. Chelsea was among the best clubs to end their season under the top 5 places since the Premier League’s inception in 1992 but didn’t taste the success until 2005. Portuguese coach José Mourinho is the most successful manager of Chelsea with three Premier League titles under his name.

The club has won the league title twice consecutively from 2004 to 2006. The last year’s league winner with its great current form is expected to become the reigning champion of the Premier League by its fans worldwide. Chelsea has excellent football talents like Cesc Fàbregas, Diego Costa, N'Golo Kanté, and Eden Hazard to achieve their desired success in the new season of EPL.

Manchester City | 5 Times Champion

Manchester City has made its name as one of the most performing clubs of the 21st century. Besides, they also deserve their place among the best English Premier League winners to date. They won the Premier League title on two occasions in 2011-12 and again in 2013-14. Manchester City first achieved the League title under the guidance of manager Roberto Mancini. And, Belgian center-back Vincent Kompany led the team well that season. Kompany again captained the team when Manchester City won the Premier League for the second time in the 2013-14 season under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The club has achieved top place in the last season of Premier League 2018-19. Fans are now expecting a grand success of Manchester City in the new season while having players like Sergio Agüero on the team who is one of the all-time top scorers of the Premier League. Arsenal | 3 Times Champion

Arsenal, one of the best clubs in English football, achieved its place among the greatest English Premier League winners of all time. The club has won the league in 1997–98, 2001–02, and 2003–04 season. Arsenal won the trophy under the captaincy of Tony Adams. Arsène Wenger helped the club in season 1997-98 and 2001-02 as the manager. They then tested the third premier league success in 2003–04 under the captaincy of Patrick Vieira. Arsène Wenger remained as the manager that season too.

Arsenal has an average league placement of 8.5 which is the best average league finishing position for the 20th century. They finished the last season in the 5th place in the English Premier League. With players like Mesut Özil, Alexis Sánchez, Olivier Giroud, and Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal is expected to achieve a top spot in the current Premier League season of 2019-20.

Blackburn Rovers | Winner of 1994-95 Season

Blackburn Rovers won the third season of the Premier League in 1994–95. And with that, they mark their name among the English Premier League winners. They have achieved the league title under the captaincy of English midfielder Tim Sherwood. Kenny Dalglish also helped the side as the manager that season. Blackburn Rovers scored a total of 89 points in the 1994-95 Premier League Season while playing 42 matches. The team had 27 wins that year and had 8 draws and 7 losses under their name.

Blackburn Rovers created an English record for the highest transfer fees ever paid in 1992. They made it after they bought Alan Shearer for £3.5million. With him, the team finished in the fourth position of the inaugural season of the Premier League. They then became runners-up in 1993-94 and achieved the title in the following year. Sadly the team has been relegated from the Premier League in 2012. Besides, they failed to participate in the last season of EPL 2018-19.

Leicester City | Winner of 2015-16 Season

With a marvelous run in Premier League season 2015-16, Leicester City became the winner of EPL. And, they put their name among one of the only six English Premier League winners ever. When most of the football pundits predicted that they will be relegated from the Premier League, Leicester City put everyone by surprise by winning the season with 81 points under the managerial skill of Italian coach Claudio Ranieri. Captain Wes Morgan led the team to the 2015-16 victory. Besides, marvelous players like Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez also displayed their bests.

The team’s top scorer that season Jamie Vardy scored 13 goals in 11 consecutive matches. And with that feat, he broke the long-standing Premier League record of Ruud van Nistelrooy. Leicester City won 23 matches that season while facing just 12 draws and 3 losses. The win of Leicester City often cited as the greatest phenomenon of the Premier League. The fans are now looking forward to a marvelous run like 2015 in the current season of 2019-20.

Whoever the champion will be in this season of Premier League, it will always be a pleasure to watch. Fans are ready to cheer for the champion team.
