Figure Skating is a sport where individuals, duos, or groups perform on figure skates on ice and it was also the first winter sport to be included in the Olympics. There are four events which are men skating, women skating, pair skating, and ice dance. This sport requires a high level of balance and being nimble on feet. 10. Todd Eldredge

At number 10 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Todd Eldredge from the USA. He is the 1986 World Champion, six times USA National Champion, 1988 World Junior Champion and was runner up twice in World Championships and once in Grand Prix Final.

Todd has been inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2008. He is probably one of the best athletes one has ever come across. Eldredge is known as one of the greatest figure skaters who never won an Olympic gold medal.

9. Kurt Browning

At number 9 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Kurt Browning from Canada. He is the first to land a quadruple jump, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Kurt is also a four-time World Champion and four-time Canada Champion.

He got inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame and Canada’s Figure Skating Hall of Fame. This talented player has every right to brag his position in this list and that's why he has landed on number 9th.

8. Brian Orser

At number 8 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Brian Orser from Canada. One of the prominent stars of Canadian figure skating, Brian is a two-time Olympic silver medalist, 1987 World Champion, and eight times Canadian National Champion.

Later, he also coached Kim Yuna and Yuzuru Hanyu to their Olympic gold. Being the amazing figure skater he is, he lands on number eighth of this top 10 list.

7. John Curry

At number 7 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is John Curry from Britain. He might not be as decorated as the other skater son this list but he is still one of the most innovative and exciting figure skaters ever because of his ability to mix ballet with skating.

He did win 1976 Olympic gold and become a World Champion but it was his “dancing skating” that is still remembered. This kind of amazing talent and sports enthusiast combination is very rare and can be hard to find.

6. Scott Hamilton

At number 6 is Scott Hamilton from America. He is especially famous for being one of the few skaters to perform a backflip, a move that is against the rules of USFSA and Olympic completion rules but still, he performed it for the sake of the crowd.

He was also an Olympic Gold medalist who also won National Championship and World Championship four consecutive times.

5. Brian Boitano

At number 5 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Brian Boitano from America. One of the most popular figure skaters due to frequent appearances in TV and movies, Brain is a 1988 Olympic Champion, two time World Champion and four times US National Champion.

He is popular, famous, talented, and has amazing sportsmanship.

4. Elvis Stojko

At number 4 is the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time from Canada. He is one of Canada’s greatest figure skaters who has been World Champion three times and Canadian Champion seven times.

He has also won two silver medals at the 1994 and 1998 Olympics in the singles event. This lands him on number 4 on this list.

3. Evan Lysacek

At number 3 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Evan Lysacek from America. He is one of the greatest figure skater of all time having won an Olympic gold medal in 2010, World Championship in 2009, two time Four Continent Champion, two times US National Champion and 2009 Grand Prix Final Champion.

2. Gillis Grafstrom

At number 2 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Gillis Grafstrom from Sweden. He is one of the few athletes to have competed in both the summer and Winter Olympics, and along with Eddie Eagan, is the only other person to win gold at both.

He has won three successive gold medals in Olympic figure skating and three World Championships.

1. Evgeni Plushenko

At number 1 in the top 10 greatest male figure skaters of all time is Evgeni Plushenko from Russia. He is one of the most decorated Olympic athletes of all time with four Olympic medals, three World Championships, seven European Championships, four Grand Prix Final  Championship, and ten Russian National Championships. Enough said.
